Real-time voice coach for Assetto Corsa EVO: hear what to change before every corner
You cannot read a screen at 200 km/h. ACE Coach talks to you while you drive: one short sentence before each corner, in your language, so your eyes stay on the road. After the corner, a sound and a word tell you how it went.
ACE Coach is available to M2R Patreon members. You log in with your Patreon account.
Listen to the coach
These are the real sentences of the coach, recorded with the Windows voices it uses. Press play. The voice you hear in the game is the Windows voice of your language.
- Braking point“Next, brake 10 later.”
- Speed in the corner“Next, carry more speed.”
- Turn-in“Next, turn 10 meters earlier.”
- Gear“Next, stay in 3rd.”
- Throttle“Next, throttle 15 meters earlier.”
- After a good corner (ding)“Good job”
- After a missed corner (buzzer)“Not yet”
A coach in your headset, on every lap
Telemetry tells you where you lost time when the session is over. A voice can change the next corner. ACE Coach watches your laps while you drive and speaks in plain words, so you learn in the same session instead of the day after.
One sentence, before the corner
The coach compares your last laps with the reference lap you chose, finds in each corner the one thing that costs you the most time and says it before you get there. It is timed to end about a second before the braking point, so it never talks over the corner itself. It can tell you to:
- brake earlier or later;
- carry more or less speed;
- turn in earlier or later;
- get back on the throttle earlier or later;
- brake harder or softer;
- use another gear;
- change the line at the braking point.
A verdict after every corner
When the corner is behind you, a ding means good and a buzzer means not yet or too much, followed by a word: “Good job”, “Not yet” or “Too much”. Within a few laps you know what works.
Eyes on the road, ears open
Long advice is shortened for the voice, so each sentence is a few words. Volume and mute are in the title bar of the overlay. The same advice is also written on the compact overlay, for the moments when you prefer to read or play with the sound off.
Spoken in your language
The voice follows the language of Windows (English, Italian and French today) or the one you choose from the icon next to the clock. It uses the Windows voice of that language: you can add it in Settings, Time & language, Language & region. Without it, the coach speaks English.
Made for Assetto Corsa EVO
ACE Coach reads the lap data that Assetto Corsa EVO makes available and does not change the game. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, installs itself and updates itself. In our measurements the coach window uses about half a percent of the processor, so your frame rate is not affected.
What to expect
The voice is the synthetic voice of Windows: clear, but not a human instructor. The coach works from your telemetry compared with a reference lap: it does not see the traffic around you. Out laps and invalidated laps are never used for coaching.
