How to prepare for a daily race in Assetto Corsa EVO
Most daily races are decided before the start: by knowing who is on the grid, how fast they really are compared with you and where you can gain places. Here is how to prepare in a few minutes.

1. Know your own pace first
Everything is relative to your best lap on that track and car, in the current version of the game. If you do not have a recent clean lap, do a few before the race: the preparation is only as good as this reference.
2. Look at the grid
Check who is on the grid before the start, and in what order. Names tell you little; what matters is how fast each one is compared with you and how consistent they have been.
3. Compare the pace in percent
Do not compare in seconds: one second is a lot on a one-minute lap and little on an eight-minute lap. Compare each rival's best lap with yours as a percentage. A rival 0.3 % slower is in your range; one 2 % quicker is a different league today.
4. Sort the rivals into groups
Putting a label on each opponent helps you decide in the race without thinking. A simple way to do it:
- Far quicker than you: let them go, do not waste the tyres.
- Quick but beatable: stay close and wait for their mistake.
- Your target: the driver you want to pass this race.
- An opportunity: a rival slower on pace that you can pass early.
- Slower than you: pass cleanly and keep going.
- Dangerous: erratic or aggressive; keep a gap.
5. Decide where to attack
With the roles in mind, choose where the race will be decided: the start, the first braking zone or a long straight with a good run to the next corner. Avoid fighting the quickest drivers in the first corner.
6. After the race, look back
Compare your result with the prediction. If you finished ahead of a driver who was quicker on paper, ask what you did right; if you lost to a slower one, look at the lap times and the mistakes.
